Sundays

It can be helpful to know what to expect when you visit a church for the first time.

Below is some information to help you out!

On Sundays and throughout the week, we are committed to:

Knowing God :: Growing Community

Engaging Locally :: Partnering Globally

Worship Service

Our worship service begins at 10:30am each Sunday. When you come into the church you'll be met by a friendly greeter and can grab a bulletin. Our worship services are filled with music, interaction, scripture, prayers, and teaching. To see a sample bulletin from earlier this year, click here.

Kids

Belfast FMC is a church for the whole family! We love having kids in the service and want to make sure every child has the opportunity to learn about God's love for him or her. Before the service, there is a special Sunday School just for kids downstairs (beginning at 9:00am). During the service kids will be invited forward for a Children's Message. A nursery is also available for little ones during the service.

Handicap Access

There is an exterior ramp from the Chestnut Street sidewalk available for wheelchair access to the sanctuary. A handicap restroom is also available on the main floor.

Parking

You are welcome to park in our parking lot, just north of the church building on Angel Street. If that happens to be full when you arrive there is plenty of street parking both on Chestnut and on Angel.

Christian Education

Kids - On the second Sunday of the month, we have a children's sermon as a part of our worship service. In addition, we provide children's church and nursery for kids under 10 each week.

Teens - We partner with the Lifeway Youth Center on Main St. to provide a gathering and teaching time for teens each Tuesday and Thursday 6:30-8:00pm. The Thursday meeting is primarily staffed by volunteers from our church.

Adults - We offer Bible Studies and Small Group gatherings seasonally - usually fall and spring. Contact us if you are interested in joining for the next season!

Food

On the third Sunday every month, we have lunch together following the service. The food is always good, the atmosphere is always joyful, and you are always welcome (whether you brought something or not!)

Communion

On the first Sunday of each month, we join together in Holy Communion (aka, the Lord's Supper, the Eucharist). This is a time of remembering Christ's loving sacrifice, celebrating the new life we have, and receiving afresh God's grace for us. All who have faith in Christ are welcome to participate in Communion, which is received by coming forward and receiving bread and grape juice.

As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact our pastor.
