It can be helpful to know what to expect when you visit a church for the first time.

Below is some information to help you out!

On Sundays and throughout the week, we are committed to:

Knowing God :: Growing Community

Engaging Locally :: Partnering Globally

You should expect the following on Sunday mornings.

Please do your best to adhere to these guidelines for the well-being of our church body,

and to be respectful of others in this difficult time.

  • Everyone over 2 is required to wear a mask when entering the building, moving around, or singing - but you won't have to wear them once you've sat down
  • Those with compromised immune systems should NOT attend
  • Our services will be streamed via Facebook for those who cannot attend
  • Please wear a mask when singing
  • We will not have the Christian education hour at this time, but we do have a virtual Bible Study on Sunday evenings
  • We will not be offering coffee or snacks for now
  • We are not permitted to "mingle" before or after the service
  • Bulletins will be on a table as you come in, please feel free to grab one and use the provided hand sanitizer as you feel comfortable
  • Kids bags will not be available for now
  • We can't pass the offering plates, they will be available in the back as you enter or exit

Worship Service

Our worship service begins at 11:00am each Sunday. When you come into the church you'll be met by a friendly greeter and can grab a bulletin. Our worship services are filled with music, interaction, scripture, prayers, and teaching. To see a sample bulletin from earlier this year, click here.

Belfast FMC is a church for the whole family! We love having kids in the service and want to make sure every child has the opportunity to learn about God's love for him or her. Before the service, there is a special Sunday School just for kids downstairs (beginning at 9:00am). During the service kids will be invited forward for a Children's Message. A nursery is also available for little ones during the service.

Handicap Access

There is an exterior ramp from the Chestnut Street sidewalk available for wheelchair access to the sanctuary. A handicap restroom is also available on the main floor.

You are welcome to park in our parking lot, just north of the church building on Angel Street. If that happens to be full when you arrive there is plenty of street parking both on Chestnut and on Angel.

Christian Education

Our Christian Education time is at 9:00 every Sunday. All are invited to grab a cup of coffee and join us for this time of forming our faith.

Kids and Teens - Downstairs

College/Young Adult - Sanctuary

Adult Class - Sanctuary

Each Sunday a generous host prepares snacks, coffee, tea, etc. for everyone to share after the service. On the first Sunday, every other month, we have lunch together following the service. The food is always good, the atmosphere is always joyful, and you are always welcome (whether you brought something or not!)

On the first Sunday of each month, we join together in Holy Communion (aka, the Lord's Supper, the Eucharist). This is a time of remembering Christ's loving sacrifice, celebrating the new life we have, and receiving afresh God's grace for us. All who have faith in Christ are welcome to participate in Communion, which is received by coming forward and receiving bread and grape juice.

As always, if you have any questions, feel free to contact our pastor.
